Collaborate with us to protect Ghana’s rule of law – GBA President to Mahama

The President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Efua Ghartey, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to collaborate with the Association in upholding the rule of law and strengthening the country’s democratic foundations.

She emphasised that the GBA remains committed to ensuring justice, equality, and fairness for all citizens.

Speaking at the GBA’s 2025/26 Annual General Conference in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital, on Monday, September 15, Mrs Ghartey expressed confidence in the President’s leadership.

“We are confident and trust that under his leadership, he will join hands with us in jealously guarding the rule of law, respecting human rights, and upholding both the letter and spirit of our Constitution,” she stated.

The GBA President also highlighted the importance of fostering an environment where a vibrant and united Bar can “speak truth to power.”

The week-long GBA Annual Conference is being held under the theme: “Sustaining the 4th Republican Constitutional Democracy: The Role of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession.”
