Is it even a party without a Colin? The caterpillar cake has long been a family favourite and has had quite the spooky makeover for Halloween. Marks & Spencer has just launched its haunting Halloween range of treats, and while we're used to Colin's seasonal glow-ups, this year's cake has a surprise filling. Colin the Caterpillar has gone orange for the season and has had a little work done on his face to now sport a pumpkin-shaped face. What's the new filing you ask? Well, Colin's filling this year is an orange coloured white chocolate buttercream. Consider us intrigued... and popping out to the shops to secure one to try! If you want to try the new cake but don't need a classic-sized one, spooky pumpkin Colin also comes in a smaller bite-sized version, with five mini rolls coming in a pack. Colin stans were quick to comment on the spooky change, saying Colin's costume is 'An essential for Halloween'. Another wrote 'big spooky Col has arrived' while a third penned: 'This is so exciting!'. Marks and Spencer's Ireland has also released a range of other festive treats for all to enjoy over the Irish tradition of Samhain. Warty Goblin Pumpkins are available in stores now and homegrown right here in Ireland! There's also M&S' own version of the Irish Barnbrack. This yeasty bread is light and flavoursome with a great balance of sultanas, cherries, and mixed peel with warm spices. Other tasty treats include Hallow Scream Munch, Spooky Kookie Dough Bites, a Build Your Own Chocolate Haunted House, Halloween Wicked Pickled Worms, and Spooky Chili or Cheese Tortillas.
