It’s time to start thinking about Christmas concerts. Yeah, it seems early. It’s barely November and in a less hectic world we might put this off until after Thanksgiving. But a little advance notice helps when adding things to one’s busy holiday-season calendar, and some of these events are already well on their way to selling out. (We’re looking at you, University of Mobile Christmas Spectacular.) Setting aside Christmas markets, tree lightings, parades and other festivities, here’s a look at major seasonal concert events coming up in the Mobile area in 2025: Nov. 20: The Collingsworth Family, a Gospel group known from its appearances on the internationally syndicated Gaither Gospel Hour, will present its “True Family Christmas” tour at 7 p.m. at Woodridge Baptist Church in west Mobile. Prices range from $28.75 to $74.75; children 14 and younger are free if accompanied by an adult. Ticket ordering information is available at www.itickets.com. Nov. 20-23: Christmas Spectacular! The University of Mobile’s Alabama School of the Arts will present four performances at Cottage Hill Baptist Church. The long-running Spectacular serves as a showcase for the school’s talented faculty and students, many of whom gain professional-level experience in traveling ensembles. Ticket prices range from $22 to $63; for online ordering and other information, visit umobile.edu/christmas, Nov. 21-22: The White Tie Rock Ensemble performs the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for two shows at the OWA entertainment complex in Foley. Prices range from $42.13 to $47.13 including fees. Nov. 23: Cirque Dreams “Holidaze” comes to the Mobile Saenger Theatre. According to promotional materials, the show “wraps a Broadway-style production around awe-inspiring contemporary circus arts.” Tickets for the 5 p.m. show range from $41.55 to $129.55. Dec. 2: The University of South Alabama’s Holiday Choral Concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center. The event will feature the USA Concert Choir and the University Chorale. Tickets will be sold at the door only. Dec. 4: Tower of Power’s “Holiday and Hits Tour” comes to the Mobile Saenger Theatre, bringing the trailblazing band’s signature mix of funk and R&B. Tickets are $43.40 and up. Dec. 6: The Charlie Brown Jazz Christmas, a concert that has become a beloved local tradition, returns to the Saenger. John Milham, Chris Severin and Chris Spies, aka the Joe Cool Trio, will reprise the Vince Guaraldi Score from “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” The show also will feature singer-songwriter Grayson Capps and guitarist Corky Hughes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Mobile. Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are $27.05 and up. Dec. 7: A Roman Street Christmas “and Then Some” at the Saenger. Roman Street is a Mobile-area group whose blend of jazz fusion is truly international, including classical, Gypsy, Latin and Nuevo Flamenco influences. This year’s concert will feature “surprise musical friends.” Tickets for the 7 p.m. show start at $42.15. Dec. 7: Bella Voce presents “Christmas Gift” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Old Shell Road. The women’s chorus will perform “a program of beloved selections of the Christmas and holiday seasons including works by Leavitt, Fraser, Dengler, and Davis.” Admission is free; donations accepted. bellavoceofmobile.org. Dec. 8, 9, 11: The Baldwin Pops presents its Christmas concert three times: 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Foley City Hall; 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center in Gulf Shores; at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Daphne Civic Center. Admission is free. www.baldwinpops.com. Dec. 10: “A Christmas Story” with Peter Billingsley comes to the Saenger. The production features a screening of the Christmas classic, followed by a moderated interview and audience Q&A session featuring Peter Billingsley, who played Ralphie in the film. Tickets start at $35.90; a limited number of VIP packages include access to a pre-show meet-and-greet session and a photo opportunity with Billingsley. Dec. 13-14: The Mobile Symphony Orchestra presents “Holiday Cheer!” at the Saenger. Guest conductor Teresa Cheung will be joined by the vocal duo of Kristin Lelm and Paul Langford. Shows are at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $29 and up; for full program and ordering information, visit mobilesymphony.org. Dec. 14 & 16: The Eastern Shore Choral Society’s Fall Christmas Concert will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at First Baptist Fairhope Church and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Spanish Fort United Methodist Church.
