U.S. jobs growth revised down. The Bureau of Labor Statistics said Tuesday the U.S. economy added 911,00 fewer jobs than previously reported for the year prior to March 2025. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said it shows “the economy is weakening.”
The Supreme Court will fast-track tariffs case. America’s highest court on Tuesday agreed to hear the Trump administration’s appeal of lower court rulings that many Trump tariffs are illegal. It also granted a faster-than-normal timeline for the hearing.
Apple announces new iPhones and more. The Cupertino-based company on Tuesday launched a new thin-and-light iPhone, among other models. Only the iPhone 17 Pro got a price bump of $100. Apple also unveiled new AirPods Pro and Apple Watches.
Record highs for major U.S. indexes. The S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite climbed Tuesday to close at all-time highs, shrugging off labor market worries. The Stoxx Europe 600 ticked up 0.06%.
