The inspection came amid a surge in crowds during Chadakhai celebrations on Friday, when many Odias thronged the fair. Food Inspector Raises Concerns A food safety inspector stated, “Some vendors are using yoghurt from recognised brands, but the date markings on the packets have worn off, indicating they were procured at least five days ago and are now unfit for consumption. Several stalls are also using artificial food colours, which we have prohibited as they are cancerous. Fines were imposed, and vendors were warned accordingly. The quality of cooking oil is also poor, it has been reused multiple times and has turned thick like engine oil, which makes it unsafe. We are also testing the quality of paneer with the help of a mobile laboratory.”Advertisment Also Read: Mermaids from Indonesia draw crowds at Cuttack Bali Yatra She further added, “Stale food poses serious health risks, including gastrointestinal disorders and other stomach-related problems.
