Clydeside Christmas Village launches on November 28 in the West End of Glasgow and offers a huge range of entertainment options and activities for every taste – and it’s FREE entry for all. With individually-priced festive fairground attractions, an undercover ice-skating rink, a giant lit Christmas tree and much more, there’s plenty for thrill-seekers as well as the covered, heated Alpine Bar with a wide range of food and drink options for a more relaxed day or night out. Santa Claus will be visiting the event on certain dates and times with the chance to meet him for free. The event venue on South Street is near Partick and has just hosted Halloween-themed event Spooktacular Glasgow, which the same team had run at Silverburn for the previous four years. They’re extending the South Street site right now and adding free on-site parking for 250 cars, as well as all the fun stuff, to make the ultimate festive destination stress-free for all. You can find more information here. Lauren Napier, one of the team working on the event, said: “This is a brand new attraction for Glasgow, bringing together all our favourite things about this special time of year in one location. “It’s about providing something for everyone, so if the funfair rides and thrills are your thing, that‘s all here for you. But if you want to take it easy you can head for the Alpine Bar, glide round the ice rink or enjoy some festive food. “We have a long track record of putting smiles on faces in Scotland all year round, but we are stepping things up this Christmas with an event we intend to make a tradition for Glasgow families every year.” Clydeside Christmas Village kicks off at the end of November and runs until early January, and bookings are open now for spots on the ice rink with other attractions coming soon – book skating here, it’s £10 for over 12s, £8 for under 12 years old, plus booking fee. Lauren said: “We want to really give the city a taste of Christmas that’s accessible and available to all - so offering good value is really important to us, as well as quality, safety, comfort and most of all fun. “Quite simply, people are struggling right now and the pressure of giving kids a Christmas to remember is not easy. “So we are doing all we can to make Clydeside Christmas Village a place where as many families as possible can make magical memories without paying silly prices. After all, it’s Christmas.”
