Residents had raised concerns about a flat at The Heritage, on Wednesbury Road, citing incidents including disorder and drug use. West Midlands Police (WMP) compiled a dossier of evidence highlighting problems linked to the property. Working closely with partners, including housing provider GreenSquare Accord, the force successfully applied for a Full Closure Order, that was granted at Dudley Magistrates Court on October 17. The order will be in effect for three months. WMP said the order allows residents and the wider community to once again enjoy the "freedoms to live" in a safe environment. PC Jo Lloyd, from West Midlands Police's Walsall Serious Organised Crime and Exploitation Team (SOCEX) said: "This property was causing real upset for people in the community and we had received a lot of complaints. "We listened to their concerns and with the help of our partners have taken action and been granted a Full Closure Order at court which will be in place for three months. "We just hope this order will now improve the quality of life for residents in the community who had been so badly affected by anti-social behaviour which was originating from the property." The action involved officers from SOCEX, supported by Walsall Prevention Hub and the St Matthew's Neighbourhood Team. Residents have been encouraged to report anti-social behaviour via a live chat on the WMP website or by calling 101. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
