A branch of Walkabout that has been closed for renovation for the last four weeks is set to reopen under a new name. The Lichfield branch of Walkabout will be Bar Home when it opens on Friday, October 3. Stilt walkers, fire breathers and magicians will mark the new era for the Stonegate Group pub, which promises ‘great food, great beer’. Stonebaked pizzas and two-for-one cocktails will be on the new menu, which will have new fixed booth seating, HD TVs and an upgraded audio-visual system. That means live sport throughout the venue, with plans to screen Premier League football, NFL American football, rugby, boxing and Formula 1. Walkabout closed at the end of August for the refit, with a full redecoration and state-of-the-art new lighting. Other new additions are a 65-inch TV in the bar’s sports zone, two new interactive dart boards, a traditional dart boards and an arcade game. The new food menu features Detroit-style pizzas and burgers. The cocktail menu will include options like the Coco Paloma, made with coconut tequila, Rum Bongo with Sailor Jerry’s rum and Cherry Cola, made with Sourz and Coca-Cola, finished with cola sweets. Anna Jones, general manager of Bar Home, said: “We’re so excited to introduce Bar Home to guests, we know they are going to love all the hard work we’ve put it into making Bar Home the best night out in Lichfield. “We want this investment and rebrand to make our pub the go-to destination in Lichfield, not only for enjoying the best sporting action on our big screens, but also for enjoying delicious food and drink at great prices. “Our new food and drinks menu means we now have an unmatched selection of world beers, ciders, and cocktails, which I believe is the best offering in the area, and with all our new features, I know guests are going to love coming to the brand-new Bar Home to enjoy the best bottomless brunch in town.”
