ELLSWORTH — The City of Ellsworth and Heart of Ellsworth invite residents and community members to roll up their sleeves and take part in the final Downtown Cleanup Volunteer Day of the year on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 12-2 p.m. Volunteers will gather at the Franklin Street Parklet at noon for task assignments before spreading out across the downtown core to tackle key projects. The afternoon will focus on enhancing the appearance and health of Ellsworth’s public spaces through weeding, litter removal, watering and general tidying. Snacks and water will be provided by the City for all participants. This event is a collaborative effort between the Heart of Ellsworth Design Committee and the City of Ellsworth, designed to prepare the downtown for the upcoming holiday season and to ensure that the community shines for residents and visitors alike. “As we get ready to light up the downtown for the holidays, this cleanup is about more than just tidying up — it’s about community pride and creating a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy during this special season,” said Cara Romano, executive director of Heart of Ellsworth. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up in advance to help organizers plan for tools, refreshments and logistics. Please register here: https://forms.gle/s6WtxXV7tzL6Xq5BA. Participants should come prepared to work outdoors and are advised to bring water, warm clothing, gardening gloves and weeding tools. This is a wonderful opportunity for neighbors, students, civic groups, and businesses to come together and contribute to the care and charm of Ellsworth’s downtown. All are welcome to join in making a visible difference and to help usher in the holiday season with a spirit of collaboration and community pride.
