Multiplex operator Cinepolis India slipped into the red in FY25, posting a net loss of ₹61 crore against a net profit of ₹32 crore in the previous year, showed company filings sourced by Tofler.Total revenue declined 7.5% to ₹1,284 crore from ₹1,388 crore. Other income plunged nearly three times to ₹16 crore from ₹43 crore. Expenses remained largely flat at ₹1,345 crore. FY25 was a difficult year for multiplexes. While Hindi films underperformed, footfalls hinged on a few big releases. This led production houses to defer new projects, thinning the release slate and slowing the content flow. Delays in Hollywood releases added to the strain. Prolonged writers and actors strikes disrupted global releases, and although films from the South brought some relief, they could not fully offset the shortfall.Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
