A new fictional series following two of London’s most prestigious rival law firms is coming to Sky and HBO. The star-studded new production, simply titled War, has already cast some major names, including The Crown star Dominic West and Layer Cake’s Sienna Miller. War comes from Hijack creator George Kay and was reportedly developed by Sky and greenlit last summer before HBO came on board, according to Deadline . As well as West and Miller, Cillian Murphy 's son Aran Murphy is set to star in the upcoming drama. According to IMDb, his previous credits include 2022 Irish–British found footage science fiction film Lola and an upcoming 2026 adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Klara and the Sun. Other huge names announced for the project include The Thursday Murder Club star Celia Imrie, who will also reunite with her Celebrity Traitors co-star Nick Mohammed, best known for his role in Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. War tells the story of two top competing law firms - Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne - as they take on the biggest divorce case of the century. Both sides are confident they will win, but as things begin to unravel, the fight becomes much more complex than they might have expected. War, which is set to be an anthology series tackling a new case each season, sees West star as tech titan Morgan Henderson and Miller appear as his estranged wife, international film star Carla Duval. Imrie and Nick have apparently been cast as series regulars Budgie and Michael Stefanou, while Murphy’s role has not yet been announced. Other actors reportedly joining the high-profile cast include comedian Miles Jupp, I Fought The Law’s Steve Furst, Protection’s Akiya Henry, Big Boys’ Camille Coduri and Inside Man star Mark Quartley. Other names include Shaheen Jafargholi, Rose Williams, Honor Swinton Byrne, Kartanya Maynard and Alexandra Mardell. Rounding off the cast are Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, Nina Sosanya, Pip Torrens, and Archie Renaux. Showrunner Kay’s previous credits include Hijack, Lupin and Criminal, while director Ben Taylor is best known for his work on Catastrophe. War is reportedly set to air on HBO and HBO Max in the U.S. and on Sky in Ireland and the UK.
