CIAA Holds First Meeting with Newly Appointed Board

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands – 30 October 2025 — The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA), which operates Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) and Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) under the Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing & Infrastructure (PLAHI), hosted the first meeting with its newly appointed Board of Directors. The Board, appointed under the Ministry’s portfolio, will provide governance oversight and strategic leadership to guide the continued development and efficient operation of the CIAA and both international airports The newly appointed Chairman, Mr. Olson Anderson, brings extensive aviation and executive experience to the role, offering strategic vision to guide the Authority through its next phase of growth and infrastructure enhancement. Mr. Alfred Thompson Jr., who continues to serve as Deputy Chair, brings deep commercial insight and local business leadership to the Board, while Ms. Lesli Tathum also continues her valued contribution as a Director. The newly appointed Directors joining the Board are Ms. Jennie Pacheco, Mr. Marcus Cumber, and Mr. Donnie Dixon. Chief Officer for the Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure, (PLAHI) Mr. Eric Bush continues to sit on the board as does Customs and Border Control’s representative, Mr. Bruce Smith. The Honourable Johany “Jay” Ebanks, Minister for PLAHI explained: “Together, this Board represents a diverse and experienced team of Caymanian leaders who will support the CIAA’s mission to provide safe, efficient, and customer-focused airport services that strengthen the Cayman Islands’ position as a leading destination in the region”. Chief Executive Officer Mr. Albert Anderson expressed his appreciation for the incoming Board, stating: “We are honoured to welcome our new and returning Board members and look forward to working collaboratively under their guidance. Their combined expertise in aviation, government, business, and community leadership will ensure the continued growth and excellence of our airports.” The Ministry of PLAHI and CIAA also extends its gratitude to the outgoing Board Members for their dedicated service and commitment to advancing the Authority’s strategic objectives.
