Christine McGuinness 'can't control what she says' as she reflects on ADHD diagnosis

Christine McGuinness has opened up about her ADHD diagnosis and how she "can't control" what she says. The model was first diagnosed with ADHD in 2022, just months after she was told she had autism. Now she has shared more details of her struggle with ADHD and what medication she has to take to cope with her condition. Christine also confessed that she is “unable to regulate my nervous system, control my mouth, or put up with people’s BS”. She took to her Instagram to share an update with her fans and wrote: “AuDHDiaries. 3 weeks off my second type of ADHD meds – 3 days into my third type of ADHD meds." She added: “I’m neither for or against meds – it’s personal choice and you have to do whatever is right for you. “I’ve been on them since early last year and I’m still unsure! Mainly because off the side effects, I had to come off them but I’m trying one last time. Praying they work because although it was lovely feeling like ‘ME’ again (unmedicated me – I miss you already). “I’m unable to regulate my nervous system, control my mouth, or put up with people’s BS (joking.. kind of) but I know I will one day.. Round 3.” Christine shared a series of snaps alongside her caption as she posed in a black bodysuit, jeans and a jacket. She also wrote anecdotes about the pictures of how her diagnoses affect her day-to-day life. Some of the wording read: “Craves connection, but also alone time,” as well as: “Socialising is basically cardio”. Christine also admitted that if she is invited to do something, she will overthink it until she cancels at the last minute. She then shared: “AUDHD: It’s not confusion – it’s creative chaos with a side of overthinking.” Fans of the star then flooded her comments section with words of support as they expressed their love and admiration for her and her journey over recent years, where she has struggled with her health while also coping with the breakdown of her marriage to husband Paddy McGuinness . One fan wrote: “Hope you find the right balance! I have such a love hate relationship with mine. Some days I love the calm and others I miss the chaos.” A second enthused: “What [an] amazing woman." A third shared: “Love your honest account on things, I’m a woman with ADHD and your posts make me feel a little more normal!!” The term, AUDHD, which Christine used in her post, describes individuals with both Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The two conditions are known to overlap and interact in complex ways. Like this story?
