Chrishell Stause is making a dramatic exit from Selling Sunset. On Friday Nov. 7, the former soap opera actress announced her departure from the Netflix reality series after 9 seasons. “I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past,” she told Bustle. “I have to be honest — having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down.” “I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially,” she continued. “I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health.” Stause added that “Jesus Christ himself” couldn’t get her to come back for season 10. Throughout the years, the actress has publicly feuded with her co-stars for various reasons. However, recently, the fights have been over alleged homophobic and transphobic comments. During the most recent season, Stause accused co-star Emma Hernan‘s boyfriend Blake Davis of using “derogatory language” to refer to non-binary and transgender people. Stause’s partner G-Flip is non-binary. Davis denies the allegations. On Tuesday Nov. 11, days after announcing her departure, eagle-eyed fans noticed Stause reportedly unfollowed all of her former castmates on Instagram — except one. If they do do another one, by then, I may not watch it. I don’t know. But I have no ill will toward the show,” she said. “The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don’t want to be bitter about it, even though I’m leaving not in the way that I would’ve loved.” “I think, after so many hours, I felt like, ‘Sit here, get through it. You’re not a quitter, but you never have to do this again,'” she added. Selling Sunset is currently streaming on Netflix.
