Chittagong Hill Tracts is once again up in flames. The Bangladesh Army on Sunday killed at least four tribals and injured over 40 others in indiscriminate firing and thereafter, allowed the illegal Muslim settlers to burn down tribal houses at Guimara area under Khagrachari district of the Chittagong Hill Tracts today. The targeted tribal people mainly belong to the Marma/Mog community. The indigenous peoples under the banner of Jumma Chatra Janata have been protesting for the last five days demanding justice after an indigenous Marma girl was gang-raped by the illegal settlers last week at Singhinala village, Khargrachari. As the culprits were not arrested, the protest spread. After indiscriminate firing by the Bangladesh Army personnel, the illegal Muslim settlers are currently burning down the houses of indigenous peoples at Ramsu Bazaar area under Guimara at present, according to some reports. The details of dead, injuries and destruction are still awaited.“Instead of arresting the rapists, the Bangladeshi Army personnel have been violating the rights of the indigenous peoples’ protestors and today resorted to the killing of the peaceful protestors by indiscriminate firing. The indiscriminate killing by the Bangladesh Army and thereafter allowing the illegal Muslim settlers to burning down the houses of indigenous peoples at Ramsu Bazaar area under Guimara shows that the killings are premeditated,” according to Suhas Chakma, Director of the Rights and Risks Analysis Group (RRAG).Live EventsThe RRAG called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene against the systematic attacks on the indigenous peoples in the Chittagong Hill Tracts by the Bangladesh Army under Dr Mohammad Yunus by downgrading diplomatic relations with the unelected government of Yunus. The RRAG also stated that the killing of innocent indigenous peoples will be raised at the ongoing 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva this week.Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
