Chitkara International School (CIS), with campuses in Chandigarh and Panchkula, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Kingdom-based World Design Council (WDC). The collaboration makes CIS the first educational institution in North India to be recognised as an approved learning partner of the WDC.
Future Creative Minds Programme launched
As part of the partnership, the school will integrate WDC’s Future Creative Minds Programme into its academic framework. The programme is designed to enhance 21st-century skills such as design thinking, problem-solving, innovation, data analysis, artificial intelligence literacy, sustainability, communication, and ethics.
According to school officials, the initiative aims to complement the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum while preparing students for real-world challenges. It will involve hands-on workshops, advanced modules, faculty-led sessions, and exposure to global platforms.
Bridging disciplines
The school highlighted that the programme would bridge different disciplines—science, technology, arts, and social sciences—encouraging students to apply creative approaches to complex issues. This integration, officials said, would ensure students are equipped with critical thinking skills required in diverse professional domains.

Participation in the programme is expected to strengthen student portfolios, improve access to scholarships, and open up career opportunities across various sectors. Exposure to international standards of design education is also intended to boost the confidence and competitiveness of students.
