Actor and former Union Minister Konidela Chiranjeevi has lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police against several websites for allegedly creating and circulating pornographic videos generated using artificial intelligence and morphed images of him. In his complaint, Chiranjeevi stated that certain online platforms have been hosting and distributing obscene content falsely depicting him in explicit sexual acts. Acting on the complaint, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police registered a case under Sections 67 and 67A of the Information Technology Act, Sections 79, 294, 296, and 336(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Sections 2(c), 3, and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986. Officials said investigations are underway to identify the creators and publishers of the content, as well as the websites involved in hosting or distributing the AI-generated material. Cybercrime officers are also coordinating with intermediaries and digital platforms to trace the source of the uploads and ensure immediate takedown of the content.
