Governor Haider lauded China’s transformation, saying the country turned its population into a strength and became a global power in just 76 years. He credited former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for laying the foundation of Pakistan-China friendship and highlighted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a historic milestone.
He also recalled Gwadar Port’s handover under President Asif Ali Zardari, calling it the basis of CPEC. “Just as our defence is strong, our economy will also grow with discipline and sincerity,” he stated, while praising Zhao Shiren for enhancing bilateral ties.
China’s Role in Global Growth
Consul General Zhao expressed solidarity with Pakistan over the recent floods and extended condolences to the victims. He emphasised China’s progress in innovation, clean energy, education, and social welfare. Under Communist Party leadership, he said, China contributes about 30% to global growth annually, with total output expected to exceed 140 trillion yuan this year.
“China’s progress is a blessing for the world, and our partnership with Pakistan is a model of cooperation, peace, and shared prosperity,” Zhao said, reaffirming China’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan.
