Video footage captures the chilling moment a man who murdered his pregnant girlfriend after she refused to abort their unborn baby screams, “I don’t regret f****ng nothing,” from the back of a police van. Shaine March, 47, stabbed and slashed his partner, Alana Odysseos, 32, at least 24 times with a knife at her home in Walthamstow, east London, in July last year, before walking away as she lay dying on the pavement. Alana had just discovered she was expecting a child with March, while neighbours overheard furious rows shortly before the stabbing, as March demanded she have an abortion. She later stumbled out of the property clutching her side and shouting, “Shaine stabbed me,” before collapsing, police said. March was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 42 years for her murder. Video footage released by the Metropolitan Police captures chilling audio of March asking for the “death chamber” and telling officers he feels no remorse for murdering Alana. In the first clip, March can be heard saying: “Mum I just killed a woman and I’m going back to jail.” In the second, he tells police: “Yeah! I don’t f****ng regret nothing. Yeah, give me the death chamber, yeah, that’s what I want.” “A f****ng lethal injection. Put me down,” he continues. When an officer informs him that “everything is recorded in the van,” March replies: “I don’t ever wanna come out, keep me in here, keep me in f****ng jail,” before laughing sadistically. “I’m a f****ng demon,” he adds. March, of Surrey Quays in southeast London, was jailed for life at the age of 21 after fatally stabbing a man in the neck at a McDonald’s restaurant in January 2000. He was set free on licence in early 2013 but was recalled to jail later that year after an assault on another partner. He was then set free again in 2018. At the Old Bailey on Friday, March was sentenced by Mr Justice Murray to life in prison with a minimum term of 42 years. “In the early hours of July 22, 2024, you stabbed Alana Odysseos to death, killing her when she was pregnant with your child, leaving her then two-year-old daughter an orphan and devastating the lives of her family forever”, said the judge. “You killed Alana knowing she was pregnant”, he said. “Clearly you intended to kill her and her baby would, at that early stage of pregnancy, have no chance to survive the attack.” Detective Inspector Aytac Necati, who led the investigation, said: “Alana was a victim of appalling domestic abuse. She was a vulnerable young woman who only ever wanted to be loved and create a secure family environment for her daughter before her life was cruelly taken by March. “Alana had also recently found out she was pregnant, something March was unhappy with. This led to an escalation in the controlling and coercive behaviour Alana endured during their short relationship. “March is a cowardly individual, who has shown absolutely no remorse for Alana or her family. I hope this lengthy sentence will provide loved ones with some comfort, knowing March is rightly facing the consequences of his actions. “This case shows the devastating impact domestic abuse has on victim-survivors, families and communities. I urge anyone who experiences domestic abuse or controlling behaviour to report it to police. Our officers will listen and will support you.” On July 22, police received several 999 calls after Alana was found outside her home address on Lynmouth Road with multiple stab wounds. Officers arrived alongside the London Ambulance Service, but despite their best efforts, Alana died at the scene from her injuries. While administering first aid with an ambulance on route, March was seen leaving the house and fled the scene. A blood-stained knife was found by officers near the front door of Alana’s home, which was later identified as the one used in the attack. Upon entering the property, they found her two-year-old daughter inside. CCTV evidence and witness statements were crucial in proving March had been in the house leading up to the attack and was ultimately responsible for Alana’s death, police said. A search for March began, and at around 04.40am, police received a call from staff at a nearby café reporting a man inside covered in blood and claiming he had just killed his wife and child. March was arrested and later charged with Alana’s murder. In a statement, Alana's family said: "All of our lives have been drastically changed by the actions of this individual. "This should never have been allowed to happen. A life sentence should mean life, with no parole or time off for good behaviour. "Because of this, Alana’s daughter will never experience the milestones of a mother-daughter existence, she will never have her mother watch her in a school play, to see her go to a school prom, to shed tears at her wedding, or get to see her mother cuddling and loving her grandchildren. "We would like to thank the police and CPS team for their hard, diligent work in bringing this person to justice, and reaffirming our hope, trust and belief in the judiciary system. "We, as a family, would now like to grieve in private, and hope that this wish is fulfilled."
