The Kansas City Chiefs finally got a win on “Sunday Night Football” as the team coasted to a 22-9 win over the New York Giants.More news: Browns HC Kevin Stefanski Delivers Big Decision on Joe Flacco Following WinThough the Chiefs finally got their first win, the celebrating might have to take a pause. The Giants have shown that they are not a hugely competitive team in 2025, and that was on full display with Russell Wilson at the helm. With Kansas City taking care of business, there should be a bit of relief that comes with that win, but that might not be the case. The Chiefs are still 1-2 in a division that is being dominated by the high-flying Los Angeles Chargers, who remain undefeated.More news: Bengals QB Joe Burrow Handed Devastating New Recovery PredictionIt would not be smart to count the Chiefs out, as there is plenty of football left to play. However, the offense the team currently possesses has led to them receiving a brutal end-of-season prediction.Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports put together an overreaction and reality piece for some of the bigger moments in Week 3, and the Chiefs are at the top with a very concerning issue.Kerr stated that the reality the Chiefs are living with is that their offense will cost them a playoff spot when everything is said and done.”Overreaction or reality: Reality”If the Chiefs do happen to miss the playoffs — and it’s hard to believe they will — their offense is actually going to be the reason why. Kansas City’s offense was a tough watch in Sunday’s win over New York, as the Chiefs racked up just 306 yards and 22 points against a Giants defense that couldn’t stop the Cowboys the week prior.”The Chiefs averaged just 4.6 yards per play and 5.2 yards per pass attempt. This is the same franchise that employs Patrick Mahomes at quarterback, by the way. Yes, Rashee Rice is suspended and Xavier Worthy is injured, but the offense has the fewest points per game (20.0), yards per game (315.7) and yards per play (5.2) through three games in the Mahomes era (since 2018).”Kerr has a huge point in that the Chiefs’ offense has looked very suspect from the start of the regular season. Patrick Mahomes remains the leading rusher with 125 yards on the ground, and the passing game has led to plenty of questionable moments.Tight end Travis Kelce was seen yelling at Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on the sideline, clearly frustrated with his lack of usage. Something is amiss, and it could be the current dink and dunk passes that prove the Chiefs’ offense is not in sync.As stated, the Chargers are currently rolling and are in clear command of the division. All the other three teams are 1-2, which does help, but a few more losses for the Chiefs could spell trouble. It is never smart to count out the Chiefs, but if they continue to play in this same manner, they may not be able to keep up with the Chargers and the rest of the dominant AFC teams. For more on the Chiefs and NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
