The Kansas City Chiefs are 0-2 heading into Week 3. They now have a chance to rebound against the New York Giants, but that will be no easy task.More news: Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Lands on Injury Report With Concerning IssueKansas City has been uncharacteristic in their losses, and a lot of attention is on the offense and Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is currently the leading rusher for the team, which is concerning, and he has also been sacked four times. To make matters worse, the offense is still without one of its star players in Xavier Worthy. Worthy went down in Week 1 with a dislocated shoulder and has to return to the field.Worthy could add a huge element to the offense, and maybe one that might change the team’s performance thus far. In fact, Chiefs have received a massive update on his availability for Week 3.More news: Falcons’ Kirk Cousins Trade Rumors Get Brutal Update From NFL InsidersAccording to a rumor and news roundup from ESPN, there is a belief that Worthy has a “50/50” chance to play in Week 3.”Sources classify Worthy as “50-50” to return for Week 3 against the Giants, noting optimism but also the need to see him handle a fuller practice workload. ‘Have to see how he looks with real practice reps,’ the source said. Worthy practiced in a limited capacity Thursday and Friday of last week, and the Chiefs will ramp up his workload coming off the shoulder injury.”Worthy returned to practice in Week 2, and there were reports that he was close to returning, though that did not happen. Now, it could be that the Chiefs can finally get their star receiver back. There is no telling what kind of impact or limited snap count Worthy could have after returning with such a significant injury, but his being on the field at all would be a welcome sight for the Chiefs.Kansas City clearly has some issues that need to be worked out, and that could start with getting the core of the offense back together. Worthy is a solid playmaker, and his absence has been felt plenty. For more on the Chiefs and NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
