Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Xavier Worthy suffered a tragic injury in Week 1 of the regular season against the Los Angeles Chargers.Read more: Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Speaks Out on Causing Xavier Worthy InjuryWorthy was tangled up with a Chargers defender and essentially got trucked by tight end Travis Kelce, resulting in him landing directly on his shoulder. The injury was diagnosed as a shoulder dislocation, but the good news seemed to be that he would not miss an extended period of time.The freak accident led to Kelce taking ownership of running into Worthy, saying he shouldn’t have done so. Regardless of that situation, Worthy will return the field soon.In fact, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed if Worthy will suit up in Week 2, as he has returned to practice this week.According to Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor, Reid told reporters that it was “slim” that Worthy would suit up against the Philadelphia Eagles.It is understandable that the Chiefs are not trying to rush Worthy back out on the field. He did show up with a brace and heavily padded during practice, but the team is likely not wanting to potentially cause a worse injury for the young receiver.More news: Nick Saban Slams Browns Players for Derrick Henry CommentsThe Chiefs do need Worthy, as he is one of the best receivers on the team, especially if they are to keep pace with the high-flying Eagles on Sunday.Unfortunately, that will not likely be the case, and Worthy will need an extra week or so to be ready to play again.For Kansas City, they will have to make do with Hollywood Brown, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Travis Kelce. Rookie receiver Jalen Royals might also not play, as he has been kept out of practice due to a knee injury.The good news is Reid did not rule Worthy out, and his “slim” comment means the speedster could potentially still play.
