Chief Minister invites Tesla to set up manufacturing unit in Haryana

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, while inviting the world-renowned electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla to establish a manufacturing plant in Haryana, stated that the state government is committed to providing full support to promote electric vehicles and attract industrial investment. He also presented a copy of the Haryana Electric Vehicle Policy to Tesla representatives and highlighted that Haryana is rapidly emerging as a leader in this sector. The Chief Minister was chairing a meeting with Tesla representatives here today. The Chief Minister said that setting up a Tesla manufacturing plant in Haryana would not only significantly boost the company’s sales but also make Tesla electric vehicles more affordable and accessible to Indian consumers. He said that Haryana’s EV policy provides investors with attractive incentives, robust infrastructure and a business-friendly environment. Nayab Singh Saini further stated that Haryana has become an ideal destination for investment and innovation, offering world-class facilities and a conducive environment for industries. He added that Tesla’s presence in the state will further accelerate industrial and technological development. In this occasion, Tesla Senior Director Ms. Isabelle Fan invited the Chief Minister to be the Chief Guest at the inauguration of India’s first integrated Tesla Center, scheduled for November 27 in Gurugram. The center will house an experience center, delivery center, service center, office space and supercharging station within a single campus. The Chief Minister also presented Isabelle Fan with a copy of the Bhagavad Gita. CM Nayab Singh Saini expresses grief over Pratapnagar Bus Accident Approves Rs 2.5 lac relief for deceased student’s family and assistance for injured Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini described the bus accident that occurred on Thursday at the Pratapnagar bus stand in Yamunanagar as extremely unfortunate. He expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased student and wished a speedy recovery to the students injured in the accident. The Chief Minister said that the government stands firmly with the affected family in this difficult time and will provide all possible assistance. It is noteworthy that a Haryana State Transport bus from Yamunanagar (number HR58 GV 6578), traveling from Paonta Sahib to Delhi, met with an accident at the Pratapnagar bus stand this morning. Some students attempting to board the moving bus fell off, resulting in injuries to five students, while one student sadly passed away during treatment at PGI Chandigarh. Chief Minister has approved an immediate relief amount of Rs 2.5 lakh for the family of the deceased student. In addition, assistance of Rs 50,000 each, along with free treatment and reimbursement of medical expenses, has been approved for the five injured girl students. The Chief Minister further stated that all Haryana State Transport buses are insured, ensuring that passengers receive insurance coverage in the event of any unforeseen incident. He directed officials to provide prompt assistance to the affected families and to ensure the insurance process is completed smoothly. He also instructed officials to ensure proper medical care for the injured and directed the district administration to continuously monitor the situation. He appealed to students and the general public to exercise utmost caution while traveling and to avoid boarding or alighting from a moving bus. 150 Years of the Song ‘Vande Mataram’ State-Level Celebrations in Haryana on November 7 The Haryana Government will organize programs across the state on November 7 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram,’ which symbolizes patriotism, unity, and cultural pride. Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh Saini will preside over the state-level function in Ambala. Various ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and other dignitaries will attend the programs organized at the district headquarters as chief guests. In case a chief guest is unable to attend a program, the respective Deputy Commissioner will preside over the function.. According to a letter issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Pawan Saini will be the chief guest in Naraingarh , Ambala district, Santosh Sarwan in Mullana, and Aseem Goyal in Ambala City. Haryana to Launch $500 Million World Bank-Supported ‘Water Secure Haryana’ Programme The Haryana Government plans to launch the ambitious ‘Water Secure Haryana’ Program, a landmark initiative about Rs. 5,700 crore, of which around Rs. 4,000 crore ($500 million) will be supported by the World Bank under its Program-for-Results (PforR) framework. The six-year program, expected to commence in 2026, aims to transform Haryana’s irrigation and water management systems through integrated, data-driven, and performance-based approaches. During a meeting with World Bank representatives held today, Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi described the program as a “paradigm shift” in the state’s approach to water management. He said the initiative would play a key role in achieving the vision of making Haryana India’s first truly water-secure state by end of this program i.e. in year 2032. Chief Secretary Rastogi highlighted that this project shall have a component of Participatory Irrigation Management (PIM) and requested the World Bank team to add their valuable suggestions in this context. A senior World Bank representative described the initiative as “not just an irrigation project—it is Haryana’s blueprint to become India’s first truly water-secure state”. Comprehensive Coverage Across 18 District The program will directly intervene in 14 strategic irrigation clusters spanning 18 districts, covering a Culturable Command Area (CCA) of 363,546 hectares. On similar pattern, the remaining districts will be covered in Haryana with funding from NABARD, State Budget or other agencies. While the physical interventions will focus on specific clusters, the planning and institutional reforms will benefit all 22 districts of Haryana. Key Components and Investments Infrastructure Modernization (₹2,325 crore): A total of 1,798 kilometers of canals across 14 strategic irrigation clusters will be upgraded with advanced automation and real-time monitoring systems like RTDAS and SCADA. Construction of New Water Bodies (₹320 crore): Nearly 80 water bodies in various districts of Southern Haryana will be rejuvenated to enhance groundwater recharge. iii. Treated Wastewater Reuse (₹280 crore): Water from four major sewage treatment plants in Jind, Kaithal and Gurugram will be treated and reused to irrigate 11,500 hectares of farmland. Micro-Irrigation Systems and Water Courses (₹1,350 crore): Cluster-based micro-irrigation systems, including rehabilitation of water courses will be implemented in identified 14 strategic irrigation clusterswith active participation of Water User Associations (WUAs). Water User Associations (WUAs) will be formed and strengthened to ensure community-led water management. Farmer consultation meetings will be jointly organized by the Irrigation Department and MICADA officials in this project to bring collective results. Sustainable Agriculture (₹450 crore): Agriculture Department will promote sustainable agriculture across 14 strategic irrigation clusters through measures likeCrop Diversification (MPMV), Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) etc. Drainage Solutions (₹436 crore): Vertical and sub-surface drainage systems will be developed by Agriculture Department to address waterlogging and soil salinity in nearly two lac acres of the remaining water-logged area of the State. vii. Bio-Drainage (₹398 crore): The Forest Department will implement Bio-Drainage in water-logged area of the State with due-coordination and suggestions by the World Bank, which can further contribute to Water Security in the State. The World Bank team praised Haryana’s forward-looking approach, calling the program one of the most comprehensive water resource management initiatives in India. The initiative marks a significant shift from traditional construction-centric schemes to outcome-based, transparent, and community-driven interventions. A delegation representing World Bank includes Sh. Joop, Sh. Bogachan,Sh. Satya, Sh. Saumya and Sh Karthik attended the meeting. Praising the arrangements made by the state government, district administration, and the Shrine Board, the Minister appreciated the excellent management of electricity, water supply, and cleanliness at the fair. *Directions issued for Inquiry into Yamunanagar bus accident, Strict action against those found guilty – Transport Minister Anil Vij* Haryana Transport Minister, Anil Vij has said that an inquiry has been directed into the Yamunanagar bus accident, and strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible. Vij said this while interacting with the media regarding the tragic bus incident that occurred in Pratap Nagar, Yamunanagar, Vij said that senior officers of the transport department have been directed to thoroughly examine all possible causes of the accident — whether it was due to a technical fault in the bus or driver negligence. He said that action will be taken against those found guilty. It may be recalled that earlier this morning, a few girl students slipped and fell while boarding a bus in Pratap Nagar, Yamunanagar. One student lost her life in the mishap, while others sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment.
