Two Chelsea legends have been raving about a current Blues star who they believe is proving to be worth every penny. It comes off the back of a flurry of goals in a half an hour period came in from Chelsea last night to see them thrash Ajax 5-1 in the Champions League. Those goals came after Marc Guiu and Moises Caicedo had put Chelsea 2-0 up in the game and to put them into cruising zone against an Ajax side that were imploding after having a player sent off early on. Chelsea were very good last night but the game ended up just being a walk in the park for them and they went on to put on a real performance for the home fans. Chelsea legends Joe Cole and Eidur Gudjohnsen were covering the game as pundits on TNT Sports, and they picked out Moises Caicedo for some real praise. Cole and Eidur on Moises Cole said on Caicedo: “This club has been blessed with players in that position, you think of Makelele and Kante. “They know when they see a good midfielder and these fans love Caicedo. There were question marks over him – £100m was a lot of money to spend – but he’s worth every penny.” Gudjohnsen replied: “I would say he’s not only one of the best players in the Premier League – I would go further than that – he has the potential to be the best midfielder in recent years.” Best all round midfielder For me, on current form, Caicedo is the best all round midfielder in world football right now. Of course I am biased here but I also don’t think that is a wild call at all. He’s there for sure.
