The late, great Anthony Bourdain continues to make his delicious mark on the food and entertainment space. CNN says its new subscription offering includes Bourdain programming that has never been available to stream — until now. The program is called Prime Cuts and serves as a companion series to the flagship show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, The Hollywood Reporter noted on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Prime Cuts combines clips from the series with revealing interviews with Bourdain, who died in 2018 at age 61. In the never-been-seen footage, the renowned author reportedly discusses the trips, people, food and cultures that he encountered, while providing a behind-the-scenes look at Parts Unknown. “These reflective, candid conversations reveal behind the scenes insights and Tony at his best — deeply honest about his travels, his work, and what the journey meant to him,” says CNN, which launched its new streaming service as part of its All Access subscription tier on Tuesday, THR reports. Episodes of Prime Cuts ran on CNN ahead of each season premiere of Parts Unknown, serving as previews to prepare viewers for each new episode. But after airing on CNN, they never ran again and were not included in the streaming libraries available on CNN+ or CNN Max, THR also noted on Tuesday. A former chef at New York’s Les Halles, Bourdain skyrocketed to stardom with his 2000 book Kitchen Confidential, a revealing memoir of his life in the culinary world. It led to a number of shows, such as No Reservations to The Layover before Parts Unknown.
