The first teaser of debutant filmmaker Adhvaith Nayar’s Chatha Pacha introduces audiences to the gritty and passionate world of underground wrestling in Kerala. With echoes of WWE-style energy and raw physicality, the promo offers a glimpse of a story that blends sport, emotion, and identity. Opening with the unmistakable clang of a ring bell, the teaser instantly pulls viewers into the wrestling arena. Fans of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) may find the setup familiar – the noise, the tension, and the adrenaline that fills the ring. A ring announcer’s stirring monologue sets the tone, addressing how wrestlers are often mocked by society. He urges his peers to channel their anger and humiliation into power, transforming their clenched fists into weapons of purpose. The visuals then unfold into a flurry of wrestling sequences, showcasing punches, dropkicks, and high-intensity moves inside the squared circle. As the teaser builds momentum, Vishak Nair’s character reacts in awe, calling the spectacle “mass.” Moments later, Roshan Mathew makes a striking appearance, unmasking himself as a key player in the ring. The film also stars Arjun Ashokan, Ishan Shoukath, Siddique, Lakshmi Menon, and Manoj K Jayan. Chatha Pacha brings together a technically strong team. Cinematography is by Anend C Chandran, while Kalai Kingson designs the wrestling action. The editing is handled by Praveen Prabhakar, with Sanoop Thykoodam penning the screenplay. Mujeeb Majeed has composed the original score, and for the first time in Malayalam cinema, the celebrated Bollywood trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy will contribute music, alongside lyricist Vinayak Sasikumar. Produced as a pan-India project, Chatha Pacha will be distributed in Kerala by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, following their recent success with Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions will present the Hindi version, while PVR Inox Pictures will manage the film’s release in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Details of the Telugu distribution are yet to be announced. Reflecting on the film, Roshan Mathew shared, “Chatha Pacha is unlike anything I’ve done before. The best part is I think that’s true for most of us who are part of this film. It really is a uniquely mad idea.” Chatha Pacha is set to hit theatres in January 2026.
