Charles Oakley played the early years of his NBA career alongside a young Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls before being traded to the New York Knicks in 1988. With his experience as both a teammate and a rival of Jordan and his co-star Scottie Pippen, Oakley revealed some nitty-gritty details in his interview with The Art of the Dialogue. Oakley took aim at Horace Grant, who played with the Bulls from 1988 to 1994, saying that he probably hated Michael Jordan."Horace played with Mike. Horus was the type of guy that probably didn't like Mike, you know, because Mike got his way in all kind of ways," Oakley said. "(Jordan's) security can travel. He can do this and that. Some guys can't handle that. And I think, they can't handle it. He get special treatment. It's going to happen. Your best player is always going to get special treatment," he added.Oakley, who is considered a legend with the New York Knicks, also mentioned Scottie Pippen, saying that he does not think Pippen hated Jordan, as he believed there are just a lot of things that have yet to be said between them. "I don't think Scottie hates Mike," he said. "He just feels like he got some feelings that he probably should have been represented more, and maybe in the Last Dance and other things."Oakley was traded from Chicago just before Jordan's name took off, when he led the Bulls to a rare three-peat from 1991 to 1993 with Pippen and Grant. Jordan and Pippen then went on to achieve another three-peat from 1996 to 1998, but Grant had already left the team in 1994. Charles Oakley praises Scottie Pippen's career despite playing in the shadows of Michael JordanDespite acknowledging Scottie Pippen's career being tied up with Michael Jordan, Charles Oakley thinks Pippen remained one of the best players of all time. According to him, Pippen has built a resume that few in NBA history can match. "He could do it all. Play all the position. He can run the show. Great athlete, (great) IQ for the game," he said. "He might not have gotten all the credit he deserved.""He is in the top 50 greatest players ever played in the NBA."Pippen's relationship has been strained in the past few years since the Last Dance documentary came out. However, they are remembered as one of the best duos that ever played in the NBA.
