Chargers Get Brutal Injury Diagnosis on Joe Alt After Titans Win

The Los Angeles Chargers came away with a win on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans to keep pace in the uber-competitive AFC West. However, on Monday, the team was dealt a major blow when it came to star offensive tackle Joe Alt’s injury suffered in the game. In the second quarter of Sunday’s matchup, Alt was forced to exit the game when a Titans defender fell on his right leg. Right away, it was clear that the injury was a serious one, as the former top-five pick had to be carted off the field. Alt has already missed time this season with an ankle sprain. Unfortunately, he is set to miss more time moving forward after more information emerged about the severity of this new ankle injury on Monday. Now, Los Angeles will have to figure out a plan to keep Justin Herbert upright without the services of Alt and Slater, which has proven to be a difficult task this year. Thus far in 2025, Herbert has been sacked the third-most of any quarterback in football behind just Cam Ward and Drake Maye. With this in mind, it will perhaps be interesting to see whether the Chargers seek out help on the offensive line prior to Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. Even prior to Alt’s injury, Los Angeles reportedly had been seeking out options in the trade market to help protect Herbert. Either way, Alt’s injury could very well have major ramifications for the team’s trajectory in 2025 as they get ready for a Week 10 clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
