Channel 4 Trespasses start time, full cast, filming locations and how many episodes

Channel 4's newest drama offering is Trespasses. This four-part series boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Lola Petticrew, Gillian Anderson and Tom Cullen. Trespasses draws its inspiration from Louise Kennedy's acclaimed debut novel, which earned a place on the Women's Prize for Fiction shortlist. The series presents a tale of forbidden romance, unfolding against the turbulent era of the Troubles. The story unfolds in 1975, in a town beyond Belfast, chronicling Cushla, portrayed by Lola Petticrew, a spirited young woman whose aspirations have been dampened by life's relentless routine. Tom Cullen takes on the role of Michael, a barrister, whilst Gillian Anderson embodies Gina, Cushla's mother, described as a 'glorious wreck' who frequently clashes with her daughter. Discussing the appeal of Trespasses, leading actor Lola remarked: "I think people should watch Trespasses because an incredibly talented crew made every frame look absolutely beautiful. It's a show that has heart and fire and really hooks you in." For those captivated by the premise, here's the essential information, reports Belfast Live . The fresh four-part drama premieres on Channel 4 on Sunday, November 9. Audiences can catch Trespasses at 9pm for the hour-long instalment. Lola Petticrew (Bloodlands, Tuesday) as Cushla Lavery. Tom Cullen (The Gold, Weekend) as Michael Agnew. Gillian Anderson (Scoop, Sex Education) as Gina Lavery. Martin McCann (Blue Lights, Hostage) as Eamonn Lavery. Emily Taaffe (Little Disasters, The Rising) as Betty McGeown Oisín Thompson, known for his role in My Left Nut, stars as Gerry Harkin, while Barry Ward of Bad Sisters and Protection fame plays Victor McIntyre. Trespasses is set and filmed in Belfast. Producer Maria Mulhall said of the location, stating: "Belfast is an exceptional place to film." She added: "On a practical level, it offers an extraordinary variety of locations within easy reach. You can land at the airport and be on a beach, in a forest, a quarry, a train station or a studio in under twenty minutes." Lola, who portrays Cushla in the series, also praised the Northern Irish setting. She said: "A lot of the locations here in the North are absolutely stunning and beautiful. We shot in this house in Finaghy for three weeks and there was an incredible bakery, shout-out Coyle's Bakery, where the women in the bakery kept us fed with lovely bowls of stew and tuna sandwiches, just little comforts like that. The people here... There's nowhere like it in the world." Trespasses is a four-part series. The first episode will air at 9pm on Sunday, November 9 on Channel 4 and then every night at the same time until Wednesday, November 12. A synopsis for the series reads: "Trespasses is the story of Cushla, a young Catholic schoolteacher whose life in 1975 Northern Ireland is shadowed by the Troubles. Amid curfews, bombings, and betrayals, she works nights in her family's pub, serving both sides and British soldiers, when she meets and falls for Michael - an older, married Protestant barrister. "Their affair is intoxicating and dangerous. Cushla's world is full of defiant spirits: her drunk, sharp-tongued mother Gina, her lively pupils, and beloved colleague Gerry. As the forbidden love between Cushla and Michael deepens, violence looms and tensions rise. Cushla is pulled between duty and desire, family and freedom."
