Big Brother icon Chanelle Hayes has expressed concerns that her risqué new venture could put a strain on her marriage. The telly star left fans gobsmacked last week when she revealed she's ditching her nursing career to start an OnlyFans page. Announcing her bold move to her Instagram followers, the mum-of-two declared: "I think life is too short to not take a step just because it's controversial – so I stepped!" She then invited fans to ask "naughty" questions and disclosed she will be taking "personalised requests". When quizzed about how explicit her content will be, Chanelle cheekily responded: "How explicit is your imagination?" followed by a mischievous purple devil emoji. However, despite her excitement for her daring new endeavour, insiders close to the star have told the Mirror and new magazine that she's worried that baring all online could potentially harm her marriage. The 38-year-old, hailing from Wakefield, tied the knot with accountant Dan Bingham in 2024, and while she insists he is "so supportive" of her contentious money-making scheme, pals reveal she secretly fears that doing OnlyFans could introduce unwanted tension into her relationship. "Chanelle is concerned that posing for sexy pictures will have an impact on her and Dan," our insider reveals. "Dan is supportive and just wants to see her happy, and while she's a strong-minded woman and this is what she wants, she is still desperate to ensure her relationship isn't affected.", reports the Mirror . On her OnlyFans platform, priced at $9.99 monthly, Chanelle entices subscribers with "the fun, flirty, and downright naughty stuff I can't post anywhere else". Beyond her monthly subscription cost, she also provides followers the chance to purchase presents from an Amazon wishlist featuring seductive lingerie, cellulite-reducing body oil and artificial lashes. Chanelle continues: "I'm here to have a good time and give you an experience worth every penny. Let's enjoy this together." Alongside clips and underwear photographs, the celebrity reveals she'll be providing "PPV [Pay-per-view] treats", hinting: "When I'm feeling extra spicy, you'll be the first to know." Following a profitable period posing for men's magazines after her Big Brother stardom, Chanelle went on to build a successful medical profession, achieving a First Class Honours in Adult Nursing. Therefore it's barely surprising her supporters are stunned she's departing after merely one year. According to a separate source, the former reality personality felt overwhelmed by the "pressure" to provide patients adequate care and attention, and ultimately, the responsibility became unbearable. "Nursing was a path she pursued out of a genuine desire to care for others, but over time she found herself increasingly frustrated by the lack of time she could spend with patients," they said. "The emotional strain of not being able to give the level of care she wanted eventually became too much to bear." Beyond the impact on her mental health, our source reveals Chanelle was also facing financial pressures, as nursing doesn't offer the same earning potential as her previous media work. "She absolutely adores being a nurse, but it doesn't pay, so it's hard," explains our insider. "She's working every hour she can, but has realised she can make far more money from modelling for OnlyFans. "She could do with the money, and this is the way she could do it. And she'll probably do it very well. She's up for it, and it will probably be a lot less work [than nursing]." Chanelle initially rose to prominence on Big Brother at just 19 years old and, following her romance with fellow contestant Zach "Ziggy" Lichman, established herself as one of Britain's most recognisable reality television personalities. Her attempt at launching a music career proved unsuccessful when her debut track, I Want It, failed to make an impact, leading her to become more notorious for her romantic entanglements than her vocal abilities. Following her split from Ziggy, she began dating Jack Tweed, the former partner of Jade Goody, from 2011 to 2013, before starting a relationship with ex-Middlesbrough footballer Matthew Bates – who is the father of her 15 year old son, Blakely. She subsequently entered into a stormy three-year romance with PE teacher Ryan Oates – the father of her eight year old son Frankie – before ultimately discovering her perfect match in husband Dan, whom she encountered through a shared acquaintance in 2020. After transitioning into a nursing career, she gradually stepped away from the limelight – until now. Speaking candidly about her decision to join OnlyFans, she told her followers: "Plot twist: I'm building multiple income streams and I'm not apologising for it. Travel business, mentoring, health and wellbeing, and yes – OnlyFans. Every platform is a business move." Describing herself as "someone who's learned that life's too short to pretend everything's perfect online", she added defiantly: "If you're here to judge, cool. If you're here to build, let's go. I only vibe with people who get it." Chanelle, who was diagnosed with osteoarthritis two years ago, has finally learned to love her body after an almost two-decade-long battle with her weight. At her heaviest, she weighed in at 17st 4lbs, but after undergoing a gastric sleeve operation in August 2020, she lost an impressive 9st, dropping from a size 22 to a size 8. Her friends now hope that reigniting her modelling career will help boost her confidence even further. "Doing OnlyFans is a no-brainer for her. Her body has never looked better, and she feels really well," says our insider. "She's seen how Kerry Katona has made money from the platform and how she's grown in confidence – and she wants the same for her."
