Celebrity Traitors fans pick up on 'clue' as BBC show trailer released

Fans reckon they’ve already sussed out one of the Traitors following the BBC’s release of a teaser for the celebrity edition of the programme.

The hit deception game, which features Faithful participants attempting to identify the Traitors amongst their group, returns this October. The celebrity series will feature stars including comedians Alan Carr and Joe Wilkinson, Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway, Olympian Tom Daley and presenter Stephen Fry gathered around host Claudia Winkleman’s roundtable.

A trailer for the programme was revealed this week and sharp-eyed fans believe they’ve already clocked something dodgy about Joe.

During one moment in the trailer, the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown comedian was spotted chatting to YouTuber Niko Omilana, who declared: “Me? Faithful.”

The funnyman responded “Me too”, though he appeared rather nervous, gazing down at the ground whilst mumbling his answer, reports Wales Online.

Supporters are now certain that Joe’s unease stemmed from him actually being one of the Traitors.

“Joe Wilkinson is definitely a Traitor isn’t he,” one viewer commented on Instagram after the clip was posted on the social media site.

“Please say Joe Wilkinson is a Traitor,” remarked another.

Nevertheless, others interpreted the interaction somewhat differently, proposing that it might actually be Niko creeping about in the castle’s tower during the night. “If Niko isn’t a Traitor I will be turning off the TV,” quipped one supporter.

Fans of The Traitors have been speculating about who presenter Claudia might choose, with Alan and Tom being among the favourites.

“I hope Tom Daley is a Traitor – would be amazing,” one fan expressed, while another suggested that overlooking Chatty Man star Alan for the cloaked role would be “one hell of a missed opportunity”.

Other celebrities joining the castle for the psychological game show include singers Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church and Cat Burns, actresses Ruth Codd and Celia Imrie, presenters Jonathan Ross and Clare Balding, and historian and filmmaker David Olusoga.

Former England rugby player Joe Marler, comedian Lucy Beaumont, actors Mark Bonnar and Nick Mohammed, and EastEnders star Tameka Empson are also on board for the BBC competition.

Celebrity Traitors will launch on Wednesday October 8 at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
