Celebrity Traitors’ Lucy Beaumont says she was ‘driven insane’ in ‘shocking’ exit admission

Celebrity Traitors star Lucy Beaumont has said that she was ‘driven insane’ on the BBC programme as she made a ‘shocking’ exit admission. The 42-year-old comedian was the latest star to be murdered on the Claudia Winkleman show in the early moments of Wednesday's (October 29) episode. Lucy’s exit arrived as she came face-to-face with traitors Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Cat Burns on a chessboard as she learned that her time in the Scottish Highlands was coming to an end . Viewers were left wondering last week whether it would be her, Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway or Ted Lasso actor Nick Mohammed who would be murdered. Appearing on Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked, Lucy told Ed Gamble that she was relieved to exit the programme after struggling to figure out who the Traitors were. "It was shocking but it was thrilling as well because it felt like a bit of a gift to finally find out who the Traitors are. It’s been driving me insane,” she joked. “When you watch at home, you’re like, why aren’t they getting it? Shame I can’t go back into the game and solve it." The latest episode also saw Jonathan become the first traitor to be banished from the castle and Lucy had started to suspect that he was up to no good. She explained: "I think they did the right thing by murdering me because I had an idea about Jonathan and I’d have been trying to get the other Faithfuls to look at him still if I were still in the game." When it comes to who she enjoyed spending time with in the castle, Lucy gave a shout out to popular actress Celia Imrie, who recently appeared in The Thursday Murder Club on Netflix . “Spending time with so many really fascinating people was amazing. A lot of them are on TV and stuff, but it was sort of like getting to know people for who they really are and people you may never cross paths otherwise,” she said. "Celia was wild – I think she is the coolest person." Meanwhile, Jonathan admitted that The Celebrity Traitors was ‘much more intense’ than he expected after he was banished at the Round Table. The 64-year-old presenter said: "It was much more intense than I expected, and much trickier than I expected. "I think the one thing I've come away with is knowing that one of the reasons I love watching this show so much is that it's so unpredictable, and one of the things about living the experience was it was equally, if not even more unpredictable than I thought it might be. It’s like no other show on TV, and it's like no other experience."
