Celebrating the journey of recovery during National Recovery Month

BANGOR — This September Northern Light Addiction Care joins communities across the country in observing National Recovery Month, an annual initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting the benefits of treatment and recovery from substance use and mental health disorders.
Recovery from addiction is a challenging journey that requires compassion, resilience, and a strong support network. At Northern Light Health, we recognize the bravery of those who are on the path to recovery and are dedicated to fostering a safe and understanding environment for individuals and families affected by addiction.
In honor of National Recovery Month, we invite the public to participate in Recovery Palooza, a free public event on the Bangor Waterfront on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This celebration of recovery is co-organized by Northern Light Acadia Hospital, Bangor Area Recovery Network and other community-minded organizations. Recovery Palooza offers a platform for those in recovery – and those who love them — to share stories, connect with local resources and foster support for others in recovery.
“National Recovery Month serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of acknowledging the journey of recovery and the strength of those who have overcome addiction,” says Jennifer Hubler, LCPC, MBA, associate vice president, Outpatient Services, Northern Light Acadia Hospital, home to Northern Light Addiction Care. “Through events like Recovery Palooza, we can break down stigma, provide support, and celebrate the resilience of our community.”
