George Town, Cayman Islands, 24 October 2025 – The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and the Department of Education Services (DES) advise that all government schools are scheduled to reopen on Monday, 27 October contingent on assessments of Tropical Storm Melissa. The safety of students and staff is of paramount importance. As such, The MoET and DES are closely monitoring weather advisories related to the weather system in coordination with Hazard Management Cayman Islands (HMCI) and will advise the public of any necessary changes. Parents and guardians will be promptly informed through school communication channels at approximately 6:00 pm on Sunday, 26 October should closure or schedule adjustments be required. School-related updates will also be posted on the Department of Education Service’s Facebook page and @descayman on Instagram.
