Minister in charge of Kodagu district N.S. Boseraju has instructed officials to complete preparations for the upcoming Cauvery Theerthodbhava at Talacauvery on October 17.

As the holy water emergence (Theerthodbhava) will occur at 1.44 p.m., a large inflow of devotees is expected and necessary arrangements have to be made for the them.

In a preparatory meeting held at Sri Bhagandeshwara Temple, the Minister emphasised that measures such as maintaining cleanliness, providing drinking water and temporary toilet facilities, and managing the crowd and vehicular traffic should be carried out.

The Police Department will deploy adequate security personnel, install CCTV cameras, and set up barricades, while the Transport Department will run over 25 additional buses with free travel for devotees along the Bhagamandala-Talacauvery route. The Health services will deploy doctors, ambulances, and wheelchairs. Cultural programmes will be organised by the Kannada and Culture Department.

A.S. Ponnanna, MLA, stressed prohibition of sale of alcohol across the district on the event day to maintain sanctity. Local leaders requested better road infrastructure, advance entry information for devotees, and shelter arrangements for priests in the event of harsh weather conditions.

Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja and senior officials assured coordination and steps to avoid any inconvenience to devotees and to conduct the event with all necessary arrangements, including basic facilities for devotees.

Some of the participants at the meeting suggested to illuminate Talacauvery and Bhagamandala on the day of the event.
