Caught On Camera: Men Steal Cash From Puja Thali At Hair Salon, Internet Asks, 'Watchman Andha Hai Kya?'

Cash stolen from a Hindu offering plate (puja thali) in a hair salon has caught the attention of social media users recently. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, showed a theft that happened within seconds, with a security guard just a few steps away.
While the salon was relatively empty, two men casually approached the reception. One distracted the receptionist by engaging in a conversation while the other, wearing a striped t-shirt, grabbed money from the puja thali. The surveillance footage shows the incident occurred on Thursday, September 18, around 3:51 PM.
Puja Thali Theft Caught In Action
The nearly one-minute video shows the duo standing at the reception counter. The striped-t-shirt man acts fast and snatches the cash. The security guard stands a few steps behind and watches him, but does not intervene. It is unclear whether he noticed the theft. Meanwhile, the man’s accomplice keeps the staff occupied and in a few seconds, the theft is complete. After the act, both men leave the salon.
The clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Look at that T-shirt guy near counter.”

What People Are Saying Online
Since being shared online, the video has amassed over one million views. In the comment, social media users discussed the shocking incident with mostly questioning the security guard’s role.
One user commented, “I thought the security guard had an eye on the thief but he let him go.”
Another asked, “What’s up with that security guard? Isn’t he acting strange?”
“Also, look at the security guy. Instantly, his instinct predicted that the visitors were suspects. But unfortunately, his status might have prevented him from proceeding,” someone else pointed out.
Some even suggested possible collusion with a person alleging, “Security guard mila hua hai” (The security guard is involved).
Others focused on the religious aspect of the theft. A user wrote, “ Bhai, ye toh puja ki thali mein se paise chura raha hai. Ye nahi janta, bhagwan sab dekh raha hai (Brother, he is stealing money from a puja plate. He doesn’t know but God is watching everything.)
Another added, “It is not just a crime, it’s a betrayal of faith and trust.”
The Temple Theft That Ended In Sleep
In July, a man named Veer Nayak attempted to rob a Kali temple in Noamundi, Jharkhand. Being heavily intoxicated, he dozed off in the middle of the act. The next morning, locals and temple priests were shocked to find Nayak fast asleep inside the sanctum surrounded by the items he had tried to steal. The police later arrived and arrested him on the spot.
