It must have been easier to get into -politics before the internet. Before digital cameras and social media sites. Before everything came with a paper trail. Before consequences. It must have been nice to know that conversations had in smoke-filled rooms would never be aired in the light of day, and even if they were, well, who would believe them anyway?
