Carrie Ann Inaba will be missing out on Tuesday’s Dancing with the Stars premiere.
The original judge of the reality competition series announced the news on Instagram, revealing that she was “feeling quite under the weather” as to why she will not make it to the first show of the 34th season.
There will be no guest judge to step into her place, and Inaba plans to return to the ballroom next week, a representative for DWTS told The Hollywood Reporter.
“I wanted to share that I will not be at the show tonight as I am feeling quite under the weather,” she wrote. “I’m resting up and can’t wait to be back next week in good health.”
Inaba concluded her post by wishing the season 34 cast good luck. “In the meantime, I wish all the contestants the very best of luck. I’ll be cheering you on from home.”
A judge since DWTS’ inaugural season in 2005, Inaba is set to return to the panel this year alongside Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough. Former celebrity contestant and champion Alfonso Ribeiro and previous professional dancer Julianne Hough also return as hosts.
Inaba’s absence comes on the heels of a highly anticipated 34th season for the franchise. The show’s cast sports a star-studded slate, including Corey Feldman, Boy Meets World/Girl Meets World star Danielle Fishel, conservationist Robert Irwin, social media star Alix Earle and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt.
Last year, season 33 averaged 7.12 million cross-platform viewers over 35 days of viewing.
Season 34 of DWTS will air and stream simultaneously on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays, with new episodes available to stream on Wednesdays on Hulu.
