Caroline Flack 'lamp attack myth' and where ex Lewis Burton is now

Caroline Flack's mother Christine Flack has courageously spoken out about devastating accusations levelled against the television host in 2019. Reports emerged at the time claiming the Love Island presenter had 'attacked her boyfriend' with a lamp and was facing court proceedings over these claims when she tragically ended her own life. Before her death in 2020, Flack was in a relationship with tennis player Lewis Burton. She was arrested and charged with assault in December 2019. Allegations suggested she had struck Lewis with a lamp, though police records indicated she had admitted to hitting him with a mobile phone instead. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson informed The Independent that Burton's injuries were not considered "serious", yet he received treatment from paramedics and was transported to hospital. It was subsequently reported that he had suffered a head wound. During an inquest following Caroline's death, a portion of the police incident report was presented to the court, revealing her statement: "I did it, I whacked him round the head like that." The document noted that she demonstrated a swinging gesture with her right hand to show officers her actions. She reportedly told police "I hit him, he was cheating on me. I admit I did it, I used the phone". Following Flack's death, Burton posted on Instagram expressing that his "heart is broken". He shared a photograph of them together at a beach bar, writing in the caption: "My heart is broken we had something so special. "I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don't think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking. "I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday. I love you with all my heart." He subsequently began dating Lottie Tomlinson, the younger sibling of former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson. The pair have been in a relationship since November 2020, share two children together, and became engaged in 2023, reports the Mirror . Lewis no longer competes as a professional tennis player. He runs a premium lifestyle and concierge business called Twenty3 Club, which strives to "create memories that last a lifetime". The firm's offerings encompass arranging luxury travel experiences, hospitality packages for sporting and musical events, plus organising corporate functions and charity auctions. Caroline Flack tragically took her own life in February 2020, and her mother has dedicated five years to investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. Speaking on This Morning, she directly confronted the "myth" about her daughter assaulting Burton with a lamp. "I want the myth of her beating someone with a lamp completely gone, you know. And I think this film proves that, and all those awful headlines that were out there at the time, you know, don't just believe everything you read about someone."
