Cardiff City are sweating on the fitness of key centre-back duo Dylan Lawlor and Gabriel Osho for this weekend’s top-of-the-table clash with Bradford City. It’s first versus second at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, with Brian Barry-Murphy still yet to taste defeat in the Bluebirds dugout. However, the Bantams are likely to represent the toughest test of the season so far for Cardiff. There are quite a few question marks leading into Saturday,” Barry-Murphy said ahead of the Bradford encounter. “We train this afternoon and there are some checks. “Dylan came off with some pain in his groin, which I think he had on international duty with Wales as well, so we just have to be careful with that one. “Gabriel Osho was the same, some fatigue and stiffness in his groin. So he will be checked today.” In more positive news, Alex Robertson will be in contention for his first competitive minutes of the campaign. The midfielder, who played under Barry-Murphy in Manchester City’s academy, has not played since he sustained an injury against Notts County in the penultimate pre-season game, while a hamstring injury also set back his return. However, when asked for an update on the player’s fitness, Barry-Murphy said: “He is back. “He has been training fully with us since we last spoke. So he will be considered for the squad along with all the other players. “He has played fine.” There may be both forced and unforced changes for this weekend’s encounter. However, chasing him for his shirt is Isaak Davies, who impressed during his outing at St James Park this week and is looking for his first league start of the campaign. “I think he has been for a few weeks,” said Barry-Murphy when asked if the Welshman was knocking on the door to start from the off. “His qualities are clear. Just always, in the back of my mind, I had that I didn’t want to get carried away, wanting to see him play more and more, but considering on how complex his past (injuries) have been. “But he’s done everything and beyond what he has needed to to play, and he is very competitive for the weekend.” — *Follow all of our social channels to ensure you stay up to date with the latest Bluebirds news.
