Who doesn’t love an over-the-top Christmas shop? No-one, quite frankly. And in Wales you'll find plenty to peruse if you’re searching for the ultimate figurine of a Santa Claus climbing up a chimney, or a string of tinsel in shades of colour you barely knew existed, or if you’re just on the hunt for a new bauble collection because the dozens you’ve got packed away in a cupboard somewhere simply aren’t enough. You’ve probably heard of Seasons Christmas Shop in Bridgend , which is thought to be the biggest of its kind. But if you’re in the middle of frantic festive shopping at St David’s in Cardiff you’re going to want to pop into the latest shop that’s going to have everyone talking. Placed right next to John Lewis is the Christmas Supermarket which opened up on Saturday, October 18, and is going to be there until Christmas Eve. Stepinside and you’ll find that it’s basically a Hallmark festive film set maker’s dream. Never miss a Cardiff story by signing up to our daily newsletter here . There are Santas as far as the eye can see, decorative lighting, tinsel, wholesome ornaments, and so much wrapping paper. It’s safe to say that Christmas now for a lot of people is even more creative than ever with social media feeds to entertain and Facebook groups to delight with wild and wacky decorations so shops like this are definitely a must visit if you’re into that kind of thing. If you’re going all out with a particular colour scheme and want everything to match then you’ll have no issues here. There's a whole section of decorations devoted to purely pink items so if you’re going for a Pink Pony Club vibe then this is the place – there were even some sparkly pink unicorn decorations. Or alternatively if you prefer to keep things more traditional they also have plenty of classic Christmas must-haves with lots of matching red and green and traditional-looking stockings which would definitely not look out of place in a Christmas lifestyle magazine. And if you are looking less to decorate your entire home but are just wanting to spruce it up with a few smaller items then it also seems affordable with many smaller decorations, which are eye-catching enough to be hung up on their own, priced mostly at about £3 each. One thing it’s impossible not to notice is the sheer amount of Santas which all seem to have an alter ego. One can even be seen preparing for take-off in a hot air balloon. Or if you’re looking less to decorate and more to get into the festive spirit before everything else Christmas-themed kicks off in Cardiff in just a few weeks’ time a trip to the Christmas Supermarket definitely feels like stepping into Christmas.
