In a shocking incident, a speeding car rammed into a security gate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) building in Pittsburgh early on Wednesday (local time).
After crashing the car, the driver removed an American flag from the back seat and threw it over the gate before leaving, the Associated Press reported, citing authorities.
The FBI, which is treating the incident as an “act of terror”, said that the incident took place at around 2:40 am when a white sedan crashed into one of the vehicle gates at the facility.
“This individual exited the vehicle, removed an American flag from the backseat, and threw it onto the damaged gate. The individual then left the scene on foot,” FBI Pittsburgh said in a post on X.

The federal agency said that no personnel were injured in the incident.
Images from the scene showed a white sedan sitting with its driver’s door ajar in front of the bent gate and a security booth. The car’s hazard lights were flashing.
Christopher Giordano, assistant special agent in charge at the FBI in Pittsburgh, told reporters that the car appeared to have some sort of message on one of the side windows.
Meanwhile, the agency identified the accused driver as Donald Henson, a resident of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Authorities have launched a manhunt to locate Henson, who remains at large.
Giordano said that Henson fled on foot after the crash and may be dangerous.
The law enforcement agency has further urged anyone who encounters the suspect to avoid confrontation and contact the authorities immediately.
The probe team has indicated that Henson, a former military member, does not appear to be armed, but the officials said that he has a documented history of mental health issues, Fox News reported.
