A Canoga Park man has been taken into custody on suspicion of selling narcotics to minors in the Thousand Oaks region, an investigation led by Ventura County law enforcement has revealed. The arrest of 23-year-old Arcenio Zuniga-Moncada stems from a months-long inquiry by the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU), as reported by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. Starting in July 2025, the DEU detectives got wind of Zuniga-Moncada's dealings, in which he allegedly distributed controlled substances to the local youth and other residents. The culmination of this probe occurred on September 24, when law enforcement officials not only detained Zuniga-Moncada but also discovered a stash of drugs prepared for sale. This operation involved multiple law enforcement units, including the East County Sexual Assault Unit and the Ventura County Narcotics Street Team, according to a media release from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. Following his apprehension, Zuniga-Moncada faced charges of selling marijuana to a minor and possession of controlled substances for sale, the sheriff's officials said. His incarceration is continuing at the Ventura County Main Jail, where his bail has been set at $65,000. "Selling marijuana to juveniles poses serious dangers beyond just being illegal," as detailed in the media release. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office calls for public cooperation in its ongoing push against criminality. If anyone has further information regarding illicit activities in the area, they are urged to get in touch with Detective Jonathan San Jose by calling 805-371-8388. Ventura County Crime Stoppers has announced that up to $1,000 may be awarded for information resulting in an arrest and the filing of a criminal complaint linked to this case. The identity of the caller remains anonymous, and the call is not recorded. Interested parties can reach out to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
