Can the Bears still be a playoff team? We asked, and you - yikes - answered

When it comes to their postseason chances, are the 0-2 Bears’ gooses already cooked?
That topic led off this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X, and let’s just say the voting may have been a tiny bit one-sided.
“They are just a mentally weak football team,” @johnnyangel24 commented. “No fight in them.”
“No one thought they were going to the playoffs” in the first place, @MatrimAybara offered.
But what about Sunday? Won’t the Bears at least beat the seemingly so-so Cowboys at Soldier Field?
“Yes,” @ronw_sportsnut wrote. “Where there is a will, there is a way.”
Alas, only about two in five voters agreed, which @The_Cap_is_Fake noted was “actually way more optimistic than I expected.”
Last, we asked: If you could watch only one sports team from now through October, which would it be?
The Cubs — who have the playoffs coming — nipped the Bears in our tally.
“I’d definitely watch a well-run, consistently winning football team — the Packers,” @RiisPark99 just had to slide in there.
On to the polls:
Poll No. 1: The Bears are 0-2. Have you already given up on their playoff chances?
Upshot: The good news is, there’s only, what, three and a half months of this left? It’ll pass so fast, you’ll barely even (ahem) notice it.
Poll No. 2: Will the Bears beat the Cowboys Sunday at Soldier Field?
Upshot: Are those boos or “Fluuuus” we’re hearing? Probably the former. Either way, Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus must be having some heavy-duty flashbacks.
Poll No. 3: If you could watch only one sports team from now until the end of October, which would it be?
