A Lanarkshire beauty has been crowned Miss Teen Glasgow – and she’s already using her new platform to make a real difference. Alongside her pageant journey, 18-year-old former Calderside Academy pupil Lucy Mcinroy, has launched inspiring project ‘My Path, My Pace’ – a campaign designed to help young people who feel uncertain about their future careers. Through Instagram Live sessions, she invites guests from all walks of life to share their journeys, proving there’s no single route to success. “I know how overwhelming it can feel when everyone expects you to have your whole life mapped out,” Lucy explained. “My Path, My Pace is all about showing young people that it’s okay to take things step by step and find what works for them.” Her work is not only inspiring but impactful. She has already raised £1500 for Cancer Research UK, and has now set her sights on raising £500 for Together for Short Lives, a charity supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Balancing studies, pageant duties and charity work hasn’t slowed Lucy down. Instead, she hopes to use her Miss Teen Glasgow title to shine a spotlight on positivity, resilience, and giving back. She added: “I want young people to know they’re not alone – there’s no deadline on finding your path. And if I can raise money for causes close to my heart at the same time, then that’s even better.” Lucy, from Cambuslang, will now go on to represent Glasgow at the Miss Teen Great Britain finals this October. As she prepares for the national stage, Lucy says she is determined to show that pageantry is about much more than appearances. For her, it is about using her voice to inspire confidence in others, opening up conversations about career pressure, and proving that kindness and compassion can go hand in hand with ambition. Lucy continued: “I hope my journey will encourage other young people in Glasgow and beyond to chase opportunities, believe in themselves, and never be afraid to take life at their own pace.” *Don’t miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire.
