In late October, the well-known construction company Camporrosso — already a familiar name in Calpe — announced its latest project: three elegant towers overlooking the Les Salines lagoon. Together, they will offer 96 exclusive apartments. Although prices have yet to be revealed, all signs suggest that Camporrosso Towers, as the development will be known, will cater to a premium market. The project promises outstanding facilities, including sports areas, padel courts, a gym, yoga and pilates zones, a kids’ club, coworking spaces, landscaped gardens, and even a pool with a pool bar — a novelty among local developments. With such high-end amenities, it is expected to attract both national and international buyers seeking the Mediterranean lifestyle. A neighbourhood of contrasts and opportunities Just a short distance from the future towers, the local government — made up of Somos Calpe, the Socialist Municipal Group, and Compromís — has planned a major public housing initiative on nearby land. This means that the area will soon combine luxury living with affordable housing options, creating a vibrant and diverse community. The council recognises that it cannot halt the rapid growth of private urban development — as Mayor Ana Sala has noted, doing so would carry significant financial implications — but it is firmly committed to improving access to housing for residents who find it more challenging to secure a home in Calpe’s competitive market. In a recent plenary session, the council approved a request to the Generalitat for the return of a plot originally intended for a secondary school. That land, previously linked to a proposed private educational centre under former mayor César Sánchez, was ultimately deemed unsuitable for that purpose. The current administration now plans to repurpose it for public housing, most likely for affordable rental homes. Located in what many call Calpe’s “Golden Mile”, Avenida de Rumanía continues to evolve as both a desirable address and a reflection of the town’s dynamic growth. Alongside Camporrosso’s Saeta and Golden Leaves developments, and other new projects around Les Salines, the area is fast becoming one of the most sought-after residential destinations on the Costa Blanca.
