Advertisement - LAHORE, Nov 03 (APP):Punjab Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth directed officers to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing development projects so that the public may benefit from these initiatives. He was chairing a high-level meeting of the Building Sector held to review progress on completed and ongoing projects across Punjab, here on Monday. During the briefing, the minister was informed that under the first phase, revamping of 1,216 Basic Health Units (BHUs) and 28 tertiary care hospitals had been completed at a total cost of Rs30 billion. The construction of Agriculture Malls in Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Multan, and Sahiwal has also been completed at a cost of Rs1,158 million. In the second phase, 90 percent work on 515 BHUs has been completed, while construction of the Punjab Institute of Mental Health has reached 96 percent completion. The Autism School project has achieved 87 percent progress. For security and law enforcement, 11 inter-provincial check posts are being constructed, while the Garments City Project, costing Rs3,172 million, is nearing completion and is expected to be finalized by December 31. Furthermore, 112 Enforcement Stations for PERA Force are under construction at a cost of Rs9,615 million. The meeting was also informed that 15 Special Education Centres for differently-abled children have been completed, while work on 7 remaining centres is underway. Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth said that these development schemes reflect the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a progressive and prosperous Punjab.
