The road to Ford Field takes a turn Friday night when the surging Byron Center Bulldogs (7-3) travel to McCamley Field to face the undefeated Portage Central Mustangs (10-0) in a Division 2 district championship showdown. The matchup features last year’s state runner-up Bulldogs, who have caught fire with six consecutive victories, including last week’s dominant 47-6 district semifinal win over Portage Northern behind standouts Tate Bainbridge, Aiden VanDam and Cameron Payne. Meanwhile, the Mustangs are seeking revenge after Byron Center ended their 2024 season with a crushing 52-14 quarterfinal defeat. Portage Central, led by sophomore running back Cam Noe, junior defensive back Ben Coleman and senior quarterback Rylan McNally, flexed its offensive muscle in a 67-19 rout of Lansing Everett in a district semifinal victory last week. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, November 7 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network. • WATCH: Byron Center vs. Portage Central football is livestreaming on NFHS Network How to watch Byron Center vs. Portage Central football livestream What: Bulldogs seek second consecutive trip to semifinals while Mustangs aim to avenge last year’s playoff loss When: Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, November 7 Where: McCamley Field | Portage, Michigan
