'Bussin’ With The Boys' pregame presence strong with former Husker Will Compton

LINCOLN — Will Compton screamed out a “Go Big Red!” chant to an eager crowd of hundreds of Nebraska students more than an hour before kickoff.
The swath of onlookers yelled their response.
Compton and fellow co-host Taylor Lewan of the popular “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast made the rounds Saturday in the run-up to the Michigan-Nebraska showdown. Lewan — a Michigan linebacker from 2009-13 — wore Wolverines gear while Compton (2008-12) donned a red polo.
The pair was at Haymarket Park promoting an energy drink. Both were guests on the CBS Sports pregame show in the Railyard making their cases for why the Big Ten is college football’s strongest league — it has something to do with player payments being legal now for everyone, they said.
“I’m fired up because we’re really going to find out what kind of team we have at Nebraska,” Compton said during one segment. “I think the game is won in the trenches.”
Compton — who turned 36 Friday — heard chants of “We Love Will!” from the southeast corner of the stadium and ran over to interact. He threw the bones, started a “Go Big Red!” chant and went into Section 10 to exchange high fives.
“If we punch this team in the mouth right here, we are on the map nationally,” Compton said to the Huskers Radio Network.
Nebraska and Michigan has been a “trophy game” — sort of — since Lewan and Compton dubbed it the “Bussin’ Bowl” in 2022.
