Buffalo News announces change in print paper starting Nov. 3

At The Buffalo News, our focus is on in-depth enterprise journalism that readers will get only from us, regardless of the platform on which they choose to read (or watch) us.
We’re constantly evaluating the best ways to bring you news, sports and features content when and where you want it, and we know that as readers’ habits change, we must adapt to meet their needs.
Starting the week of Nov. 3, The News will produce a printed paper six days a week, from Tuesday through Sunday. We will continue to produce an E-edition – a digital replica of the printed paper – seven days a week and post the latest news, sports, weather and features on BuffaloNews.com.
We know that some readers who rely on the printed newspaper will not like this change. But we live in a world that has come to embrace digital communication, and this change reflects that reality.
Our E-edition lets you read the newspaper on any device – mobile, tablet or computer. You can flip through the pages just like you do with the newspaper. When you click on a local article, you’ll see the latest updates and video, photos, interactive maps and other digital items that will give you a deeper understanding of the issue. You’ll find extra comics and puzzles you can print out if you prefer to solve them by hand.

And because it doesn’t “go to press” like the traditional print edition, we have been able to use the E-edition to cover events that occur after our print deadline – for instance, our complete coverage of Buffalo Bills games.
It is important to note that the journalists who work at The News will continue to report, disseminate and update information seven days a week and our website, BuffaloNews.com, will continue to be where you can find the latest information 24 hours a day.
That site helps us tell stories in new and engaging ways – with a combination of words, pictures, video and audio. Email and mobile alerts let subscribers know about breaking news developments as they happen. Our newsletters point you to the best of our coverage, no matter what you’re interested in.
We also have a faithful audience on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Bluesky.
As a reminder: Access to our digital content – including the E-edition, website and mobile app – is included in your subscription. Not yet using our website? You can activate your access at BuffaloNews.com/activate and check out all of the added features at your fingertips. We’re confident you’ll find something you like.
The Buffalo News remains the largest newsgathering operation in Western New York and is as committed as ever to covering our community. The work we do is more important than ever, and I’m proud of it every day.
